RCOT - Networking event

Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) Specialist Section in Neurological Practice.

Friday 19 October 2018 at RCOT HQ, London

We were delighted to sponsor the recent Royal College of Occupational Therapists – SSSNP networking event. The day consisted of lots of thought provoking discussions around psychological adjustment, cognitive assessment, treatment pathways and functional neurological disorder.  The day was rounded off by the launch of the Parkinson’s pathway, developed as part of the UK Parkinson’s Excellence Network - a valuable resource for Neuro OTs everywhere.

We had an enjoyable day and it was great to see a large number of our neuro OT colleagues present at the event.

We have pleasure in announcing that the winner of the Brain Injury Workbook was…

Veronika Lechler, from – Lewisham Hospital

A big thank you to Veronika and all who took the time to visit our stand to say hello and to discuss specialist neuro occupational therapy. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

  • I was knocked off my bicycle by a car and suffered a head injury. I could never have imagined the consequences of this and the impact that it would go on to have on my own and my family's lives.

  • I feel there is a veil over my face; a haze, a fog, something that is stopping me. The world is moving faster round me.

  • I haven’t run since this happened…… and with my reduced balance, I have visions of me falling over and ending up back where I started!

  • Mathilda is my dog and I feel very sad when she sits by me and puts her head on my lap. I can’t take her for walks.
